Ashley Rabon Counseling

Meet Ashley

Hi! I am glad you are here. My name is Ashley Rabon, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. I am honored to be able to walk alongside individuals and couples as they begin to better understand their stories and work towards healing and health in their relationships with themselves and others.

I often work with individuals who are experiencing the effects of past trauma. I also see individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, identity issues, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I use a holistic, integrated approach to counseling, leaning heavily on person-centered therapy. I am an EMDR trained therapist. If you have any questions about the therapeutic process or would like to know more about my practice, please don’t hesitate to send me an email.

Therapy can provide a safe place for you to grow, heal, gain resources and begin to hope again. It can be intimidating to trust someone with the pain, heartache, and uncertainty in your life, and it often takes courage to get here. If you feel without hope today, I want you to know there are people who want to truly see you, know you and hear your story. Whether it is with me or another therapist, I hope you can find someone to walk alongside you as you rest, grow in strength, and face the challenges in your life.

Counseling Services

Trauma Therapy

Trauma Therapy

Trauma is stored in the mind and body, often leaving the individual with a terrifying sense of being helpless and alone. Ongoing experiences of helplessness and isolation can leave people feeling hopeless. My desire is to create a space for you to grow in experience of safety. I want to walk alongside you as you slowly increase your ability to hope. We will work together to move at a pace that is safe for you to move. Working with a therapist can provide the context for a relationship where you experience the safety to truly rest, be seen and understood, and grow in the strength that is already in you.

Couples Counseling

Couples Counseling

In intimate relationships we often get stuck in similar patterns and emotional responses. We rarely have the time to slow down and recognize the cycles and deeper stories behind our conflicts. Using some of the foundational principles of the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT), I hope to help you and your partner begin to recognize some of the deeper needs and wounds beneath your conflicts. We will also work to identify practical tools for better communication and explore methods to grow appreciation and joy in your relationship.

Grief / Loss Therapy

Grief / Loss Therapy

Grief is a universal experience, but when it shows up it can be debilitating. Loss impacts us in ways we do not anticipate. The effects often show up in unforeseen ways emotionally, physically, mentally, and relationally, to name a few. Experiencing a sudden loss may bring up grief from past losses long ago. Grief counseling can help give you the permission to stop and pay attention to the grief, with all of its pain, sorrows, stories, and beauty. Grief therapy can help strengthen you as you walk through some of the hardest seasons in life. Whether it is the loss of a loved one or grief over the loss of a relationship, processing grief in its many stages can lead to greater healing and strength for the future.

Anxiety / Depression

Anxiety / Depression

Anxiety and depression are both incredibly common experiences in our world, and they can show up with various different symptoms in different people. A person might be experiencing mild symptoms that impact everyday life or the effects could be utterly debilitating. Neither anxiety nor depression are one-dimensional experiences with simple explanations, therefore the approach to treatment must be holistic and multidimensional. I hope to work alongside you as we learn to listen to your anxiety and depression symptoms and what they might be telling you about your experience. I hope to encourage you to engage with your anxious and depressive parts with compassion, curiosity, and courage. You are not alone.
